Biography

Eric Stinson (born 1984, Jamestown, ND) grew up in Edina, MN and attended Edina High School.  He then attended St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN and completed a double major in Physics and Music Composition.  His senior thesis project was writing Siafu!: The Musical which was premiered at his senior recital.  While at SJU, he also co-founded Johnnie Blend, an all-male a cappella group that is still going strong on campus.  Through arranging and writing for Johnnie Blend, Eric honed his skills for writing for men’s ensembles.

While continuing his education in physics – Master’s of Science in Medical Physics from McGill University, Montreal, Canada – Eric found some time to write and arrange more musical works.  He also had a chance to utilize McGill’s expansive music library to study the composition of musical theatre.  Eric looks forward to completing another musical soon – they are in the works!

Eric is currently a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at the Mayo Graduate School in Rochester, MN.
